Library
The library is an extension of every classroom at ABC. Be sure to visit it frequently and glean from the vast resources on its shelves. There are four types of collections; periodicals, reference books, electronic sources, and the general lending library. The first three groups of materials are to be used in the library only. Books in the general lending collection may be checked out by ABC students who have a valid ID card. A faculty member may select some books from the general lending collection and place them on the “reserve shelf.” These books have a limited amount of time, fixed by library staff, that they can be used by a student
The librarian, library assistant, and library monitors are in charge of all the books and their usage. Students are to respect the requests of all library personnel. Rules and regulations governing the use of the library are posted and should be read carefully. Each student is given a Library Handbook that describes library procedures.
The library policies describe the number of books a student can check out and the period of time they can be used. Each book that is checked-out is given a due date. Please return books on time. After that date, the student will be fined 5 ETB per day per book until the books are returned. Fines must be paid before additional books can be borrowed. All library fines must be paid in the finance office before the student can be cleared for graduation. The Librarian will report fines to the business office.
Each book in the library has been provided through the generous gifts of people who love ABC by direct purchases made by the College. Please handle the books carefully. Damage to or theft of the collection will meet with stern disciplinary measures.
